Finding Storm Shards
Find Storm Shards by mining natural ore or defeating mobs in the main overworld, Frontier, Nether and End. The restrictions below apply.
| Source | Chance per block or mob | Shards on a drop |
|---|---|---|
| Emerald ore | 1% | 1–2 |
| Diamond ore or ancient debris | 0.75% | 1–2 |
| Lapis ore | 0.25% | 1 |
| Warden | 50% | 1–2 |
| Ender Dragon | 50% | 1–3 |
| Elder Guardian | 25% | 1–2 |
| Wither | 5% | 1–3 |
| Piglin Brute | 2% | 1 |
| Evoker or Breeze | 0.5% | 1 |
Deepslate versions of the ores in the table have the same chances as their ordinary counterparts. Other ores and hostile mobs can have smaller chances. A drop is never guaranteed.
Mine natural blocks with the appropriate tool and without Silk Touch. Player-placed and piston-moved ore cannot drop shards, nor can ore in chunks generated before shard tracking began. Spawner and spawn-egg mobs, raids and several other artificial spawns cannot drop them. Trial-spawner Breezes can drop shards.
Bring what you find to the windmill to upgrade equipment.
