Repair equipment

Repair a damaged pickaxe, axe, shovel, hoe or sword with a matching ingredient and an iron block.

1. Place an iron block where you can interact with it.
2. Hold the damaged item in your main hand and the matching ingredient in your offhand.
3. Right-click the block in survival mode. One ingredient is consumed and durability is restored.
4. Repeat if needed. Each successful repair earns Repair experience; higher Repair levels restore more durability per ingredient.

For example, hold a damaged iron pickaxe and an iron ingot, then click the block. A fully repaired item consumes nothing. This method does not repair armor, wooden or copper tools, bows or other items outside the listed tool and weapon types.
