Graves
When you die, your item drops usually go into a grave, shown as a player head near your death location on land where you can build. After a death in lava or the void, it can appear where you last stood safely. If no suitable place for a grave is available, items drop normally instead. Experience still drops as ordinary experience orbs.
Run /graves to list your graves, then return and empty the grave. If no grave is listed, check the death site for ordinary drops. You can always retrieve your grave’s contents, but items that do not fit in your inventory fall at your feet when you open it. Make room before opening it, and bring enough supplies to reach it safely.
If you are far away, /back may help you return to the death location. It has a price and cooldown; check /tpinfo back before travelling. Ask another player for help if the route is dangerous.
For the first two hours, only you can take its contents. After that, other players can take what fits in their inventory. After seven days, the grave breaks open and drops anything left at its location; you receive a notice immediately or when you next join. Recover your things promptly.
See grave recovery for a return checklist.
