Switches and cooking pots

Mechanic I lets you build and use these signs where you have permission. Write the tag on line 2.

Attach a wall sign to a block and write [X] on its second line. Right-click the supporting block from the other side to operate the hidden switch. Connect redstone to use its signal.

Write [|] on line 2 of a sign and right-click it to toggle nearby supported lights together. It searches within eight blocks and handles up to 32 lights, including candles, candle cakes and copper bulbs.

  1. Put a heat source one or two blocks below a sign and write [Cook] on line 2. A lit campfire is one option; fire, soul fire, lava and magma blocks also work.
  2. Right-click the sign with fuel in your main hand. Coal or charcoal supplies eight items of fuel; a coal block supplies 80, a blaze rod 12, and a dried kelp block 20.
  3. Right-click with raw food to cook it. The cooked items go into your inventory. An empty-hand click reports fuel remaining; the pot holds at most 640 fuel.
